PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Chocolate Reticulation Project
We recently undertook a challenging project in Auckland, to design, supply, fabricate and install an Automated Chocolate Reticulation System. The concept was to store and mix three different types of chocolate, in three separate tanks, and deliver these to their point of use in the factory at multiple locations, while filtering, tempering and detempering the chocolate.
All the tanks, pipework, pumps and valves needed to be jacketed with warm water circulation, to maintain the fluidity of the chocolate.
Scope of Supply
- Design and Seismic PS1
- Pipework and layout drawings
- P&ID development
- Hot water tank, heating and recirculation system
- Chocolate tanks with mixing and hot water jackets
- Toffee Tanks with mixing, jackets and loadcells
- Platforms and accessways
- Pipe stands and brackets
- Jacketed pipework approx. 360 meters
- Automated valves, pumps, instruments, loadcells
- Documentation suitable to GMP compliance.
Our Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge we had was that the customer needed to run his existing production while we were installing. He therefore had a very tight deadline. We needed to fit 3500 hours of work into 8 weeks. Managing a larger team, and heavy overtime and weekends put a great deal of pressure on our team.
